Concreo / Conclad concrete panels
CEMENTO NON CEMENTO CONCREO – CONCLAD
Cemento non cemento is a new kind of panel, a full-body, mineral and lightweight material.
A new material, Concreo was chosen by the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris. The panels are installed in Marius Aurenti showrooms in Paris and Lyon.
The benefits are above all aesthetic: a warm concrete feel, a contemporary visual feel and different panel sizes, to best suit your needs and projects.
Concreo and Conclad panels are half as dense as concrete, and can be cut with simple tools, without the need for a diamond disk or hole saw. Panels can be sanded, chamfered and engraved.
MA’s brings its finishing expertise to bear with its concrete varnishes and waxed finishes, for maximum resistance in public environments, for example.

General product description
Conclad® is an aesthetically pleasing, functional and reliable panel. It can be used to produce manufactured claddings that are similar in every way to cast concrete, with the same ease of processing as a normal wood panel, using the same tools, blades, hardware and fittings as wood. The complementary use of Gemin srl’s Conclad®, Concreo® and Concover® products, according to the needs of the application, constitutes a system that revolutionizes the use of cement in the field of high-level interior design and furnishings.
Composition
Conclad® is a ready-to-use biocompatible panel. It is made from natural cellulose and gypsum fibers that are not classified as hazardous in accordance with the directives.
Depending on the application, Conclad® can be used alone or in conjunction with other support materials, such as wood-based panels, aluminum, metal and all other types, using normal adhesives.
Depending on the materials used for support or the adhesive used, it may be necessary to counterbalance with the same techniques employed for coupling wood-based panels, always bearing in mind the high temperature and humidity stability of Conclad®.
Jobs
Conclad is designated as a non-structural panel for interiors: wall cladding, ceilings, decor, furniture, design objects and other uses compatible with its technical characteristics.
Thanks to the excellent quality of the panels, the user can also decide to use Conclad in a different way to that indicated by the manufacturer, but in this case he’ll have to take responsibility for his actions.
For further information on the project, see the values shown in the table on the attached information map.
For further information and technical support, please visit www.conclad.it.
Conclad® features:
High aesthetic level, with a random, natural fiber composition that is unique and never repeated.
Water-based pigmented surface.
Easy to cut, drill, bleach, engrave, groove, laser-engrave, plane, chip, bend and, more generally, work with the same techniques and equipment used for woodworking.
Extremely easy to splice, assemble, couple, glue and fill sheets with each other, to create perfect surfaces and volumes.
Extremely easy wall cladding, using standard commercially-available fastening panel systems, and direct bonding to pre-existing walls to be clad; the use of specific adhesives is recommended.
Density less than half that of concrete casting.
Good flow of suspended loads thanks to good adhesion of nails, screws, plugs and all hardware on the market.
Good sound reduction performance, to set high standards for quality of life in even very large and noisy areas.
High thermal insulation and transpiration properties, to create a comfortable living environment.
Limited elasticity, but also good resistance to mechanical stress on the surface, thanks to the homogeneous structure of the plates, especially throughout their thickness.
Fire-retardant material with certified European classification.
Stability of panels in very humid environments or in the presence of strong temperature variations, without volume expansion.
The material’s eco-compatibility means it can be disposed of with household waste or common building materials, in compliance with local regulations.
Finishing the work
Conclad® panels are manufactured and distributed already finished, with natural surface treatments for excellent aesthetics.
Aesthetics are always subject to natural differences that lead each panel to its own uniqueness, which adds value to the product. Small color differences, cracks and holes are not grounds for complaint.
In the event of contact, immediately remove any staining substances and try to prevent or limit damage using delicate cloths or paper, without rubbing the surface, to avoid further damage to the protection from chemical agents.
Depending on the project and usage, in correspondence with cuts, millings, notches, cracks and in general in all cases where the paste inside the panel untreated with protective coatings is brought to the surface, it may be necessary to apply color homogenizing finish color or injection protection or dustproof varnish with the foresight to quickly remove any possible excess of these substances from adjacent untreated surfaces. For best performance, we recommend the use of products manufactured specifically for Conclad® (stucco, background color). Ask your supplier for details of availability.

Product maintenance
As Conclad® is a natural material, it is subject to natural aging due to smog, dust and mechanical wear dictated by the environment and intended use. This aging process is very similar to what happens in cement, increasing its charm and authenticity over time.
For normal tile cleaning, we recommend using a soft cloth soaked in water to remove surface dust. If you wish to clean the surface more thoroughly, use very mild neutral detergents. Good results can also be achieved using liquid window cleaners: apply the product evenly without excessive pressure to avoid damaging the surface, remove with a damp cloth and dry gently.
For persistent stains, use a product such as Mastro Lindo’s Magic Eraser or similar, which is slightly abrasive and should always be used with care to avoid damaging the surface protection. If the stain has not been satisfactorily removed, it will be necessary to act more invasively, using abrasive papers to remove all the stained material and, depending on the depth of removal, proceed with restoration using the appropriate filler material or simply limiting to the use of the background color, depending on the preferred effect, both Conclad® brand, available from the manufacturer or from distributors in the area. The manufacturer’s technical department is always on hand to help customers choose the solution best suited to their needs.
By following the manufacturer’s instructions, the material will maintain its beauty virtually without expiration.

Dimensions and weights: Conclad® slabs are available in standard sizes of 1,250 x 2,540 mm and 1,250 x 3,000 mm.
Precautions for use
The low elasticity of slabs must be taken into account when calculating displacements, and they must always be supported in a distributed manner to avoid fracture.
Never lift the slabs, leaving them free to bend along their entire length, as this could easily cause them to break. Always handle them on slopes and without creating dangerous bends.
Protect edges from blows to avoid chipping.
The surface layer does not protect against stains and cuts, so we recommend protecting the slab from contact with liquids, blades and sharp or abrasive objects that could damage the material.
When using adhesive tapes applied to the surface, which should be avoided in all cases, take care when removing them, to avoid removing the surface protection. In this case, the problem can always be solved by applying Conclad® branded Fond de Couleur, which makes the use of any other filler or repair material superfluous.
Store in a dry place, away from sources of direct light, in a horizontal plane with even support along the entire surface, to avoid slab deflection.

Finishing the work
Concreo® is a raw material available for creation which, starting from standard panels, can design finishes, volumes and objects by providing the flat form and union of slabs. Concreo® panels are manufactured and distributed already finished, with high-tech surface treatments that provide good resistance to the aggression of external agents, while retaining a very natural image.
Concreo® is available in a range of surface finishes. Regardless of the finish chosen, aesthetics are always subject to natural differences that lead each panel to its own uniqueness, which adds value to the product. Small color differences, cracks and holes are not grounds for complaint.
The surface treatment creates a thin protective layer with good aesthetic stain resistance. Laboratory tests certify the surface’s level of resistance to the main agents attacking color. To avoid any damage, it is advisable to remove the coloring substances, if possible within an hour. Strongly aggressive substances such as alcohol, acids, ketones, ethanol and the like should be removed immediately, absorbing them with delicate cloths or paper without rubbing the surface, to avoid further damage to the protection caused by chemical agents. For further information, see the Certified Test Reports downloadable from www.concreo.it.
Depending on project and use, in correspondence with cuts, millings, notches, cracks and in general in all cases where the paste inside the panel untreated with protective coatings is brought to the surface, it may be necessary to apply a color homogenizing finish or injection protection, or a dustproof, stain-resistant, waterproof varnish, with the foresight to quickly remove any excess of these substances from adjacent untreated surfaces. For best performance, we recommend the use of products manufactured specifically for Concreo® (stucco, background color, transparent finish with dust, stain and waterproofing functions).
